Okada rider dies, passenger critically injured in Buduburam truck crash

An Okada rider has died and his passenger is in critical condition after a cargo truck reportedly collided with their motorcycle at Budumburam in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region.

The accident occurred on the Kasoa-Winneba Highway when the motorcycle was travelling towards Kasoa, while the cargo truck, with registration number GN-4199-22, was heading in the opposite direction towards Cape Coast.

According to an eyewitness who spoke to Adom News, the cargo truck allegedly veered into the path of the motorcycle, resulting in a violent collision.

The impact left the Okada rider with severe head injuries, and he reportedly died at the scene.

The passenger also sustained serious injuries and was rushed to a hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment.

Following the crash, residents who witnessed the incident reportedly intercepted the driver of the cargo truck and handed him over to the police.

The driver has since been arrested to assist with investigations into the circumstances that led to the accident.

Police are expected to establish the cause of the crash and determine the circumstances surrounding the alleged collision.
