Prophet Isaac Nyarko, popularly known as Prophet Dr Power Man, has made a controversial pledge to sacrifice his life if doing so would enable President John Dramani Mahama to secure a third term in office.
The founder of Grace Impartation Power Ministry International said he remains a strong believer in President Mahama’s leadership and would be willing to make the ultimate sacrifice if that were required for the President to extend his stay in office.
Speaking on Accra FM on August 28, 2026, Prophet Nyarko stressed that he was not demanding a third term for President Mahama but was prepared to offer himself if such a sacrifice became necessary.
“I am not forcing Mahama to go for a third term, but if Mahama wants someone to be used as a sacrifice for him to go for a third term, I, Prophet Dr Power Man, can donate my life,” he said.
He sought to justify his position by pointing to historical figures he believes made significant personal sacrifices for Ghana, particularly leaders from the Gold Coast era.
According to the prophet, some of Ghana’s past leaders paid the ultimate price in their efforts to advance the interests of the country.
He cited Ghana’s first President, Dr Kwame Nkrumah, among the historical figures whose lives and sacrifices, in his view, were tied to the nation’s development.
Prophet Nyarko’s comments come amid ongoing public discussions about the possibility of President Mahama seeking to remain in office beyond 2028.
President Mahama, who previously served one term and returned to office for a second term, is constitutionally expected to leave office in 2028.
The President has repeatedly stated that he is not interested in pursuing a third term, despite continued discussions about the issue in the public domain.
The prophet’s remarks have therefore added a fresh dimension to the debate surrounding a possible third-term agenda for President Mahama.
