Four people died in a road crash at Esuehyia Junction on the Apam-Mankesim Highway in the Central Region on Sunday, September 13, 2026.
The accident, which occurred at about 10 p.m., involved a Toyota Vitz with registration number GM 3758-26 and a DAF passenger bus with foreign registration number SGB 897XB, according to the Central Regional Command of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS).
Personnel from the Mankesim Fire Station responded to the crash and found four people, comprising three males and a female, trapped in the mangled Toyota Vitz.

“The crew extricated the four trapped victims from the mangled Toyota Vitz vehicle and they were confirmed dead by the National Ambulance Service who were also at the scene. They were then handed over to the Ghana Police Service” the statement said.
Six occupants of the DAF bus sustained minor injuries.

The GNFS said the bus was travelling from Côte d’Ivoire to Nigeria when it crashed into the Toyota Vitz, which was also travelling towards Cape Coast
The exact cause of the accident is yet to be established.
