A 35-year-old tipper truck driver was trapped inside his vehicle after the loaded truck overturned near the Customs Barrier in the Bolgatanga East District of the Upper East Region.
The driver, identified as Sulemana Nangne, was rescued after firefighters spent nearly two hours extricating him from the mangled vehicle.
The incident involved a tipper truck with registration number GG 4478-21.

The Bolgatanga Municipal Fire Station received a distress call at about 5:30pm and dispatched a six-member crew led by STNO1 Bright Atimbiok to the scene.
The firefighters arrived eight minutes later and immediately began efforts to free the trapped driver.
After a prolonged extrication operation, the crew successfully rescued Nangne at about 7:21pm.

He was subsequently handed over to the National Ambulance Service and transported to the Upper East Regional Hospital for medical attention.
The circumstances that caused the truck to overturn have not been disclosed.
