‘I won’t take the confidence of delegates for granted’ – Kojo Bamba

Newly elected New Patriotic Party (NPP) National First Vice Chairman, Kwadwo Fosu Boadu, popularly known as Kojo Bamba, has pledged to justify the confidence delegates have reposed in him following his election to the position.

In a statement issued on October 5, 2026, Mr Boadu expressed gratitude to delegates and party members who supported his campaign, saying he considers the mandate a responsibility rather than something to take for granted.

“I am deeply humbled and profoundly grateful to have been elected as the National First Vice Chairperson of our great party, the New Patriotic Party (NPP). I do not take this mandate for granted,” he said.

He also used the opportunity to call for unity among party members following the conclusion of the NPP’s national executive elections.

According to him, the competition among candidates should now give way to a collective effort aimed at strengthening the party and advancing its interests.

“We may have competed against one another, but at the end of the day, we are one family, united by one common purpose: the success of the New Patriotic Party. The contest is over. Now is the time to unite,” he said.

Mr Boadu further urged members of the NPP to rally behind the party’s flagbearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, as the party prepares for the 2028 general elections.

He called for renewed commitment, discipline and hard work from party members in the effort to return the NPP to power.

“We have a flagbearer in Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, and we must all rally behind him with renewed commitment, discipline and hard work as we seek to lead the NPP back to power in 2028,” he stated.

Mr Boadu’s election makes him part of the NPP’s newly constituted national leadership following the party’s National Delegates Congress and National Officers’ Elections held at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi on October 3.
