President John Dramani Mahama is set to embark on a two-day working visit to the Ahafo Region to inspect ongoing development projects and engage residents on government policies and efforts to boost local economic growth.
The visit, scheduled for Friday, October 9, and Saturday, October 10, forms part of his Resetting Ghana Tour and will focus on key infrastructure and agribusiness initiatives across the region.
Among the projects on the President’s itinerary is a poultry, meat and feed processing facility at Bechem in the Tano South Municipality, which is expected to support agribusiness development and strengthen local production.
President Mahama is also expected to inspect the Tepa–Goaso Road project, being undertaken under the government’s Big Push Programme, as well as the Ntontroso Bridge, which links Acherensua, one of the region’s major food-producing areas.
The President will be accompanied by several government officials, including Minister for Food and Agriculture Eric Opoku; Minister for Roads and Highways Kwame Agbodza; Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare; and Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs Mahama Ayariga.
Ahafo Regional Minister Charity Gardiner and other officials are also expected to join the delegation during the tour.
The visit will conclude on Saturday, October 10, with a town hall meeting at the Victory Centre Assemblies of God Church in Goaso.
The engagement, dubbed #ResettingGhana Citizens Engagement with President Mahama, will provide a platform for the President to interact directly with residents and hear their concerns, feedback and development priorities.
Traditional leaders and community members are expected to use the meeting to raise issues affecting their communities and discuss the impact of government policies and ongoing projects in the region.
President Mahama and his delegation are also expected to brief participants on development initiatives underway in Ahafo and other national interventions aimed at improving living conditions and promoting economic growth.
