A Nigerian national, Maazi Okechuku Augustine, has been remanded by an Accra Circuit Court in connection with an alleged attempted bank robbery in the Labone area of Accra.
Augustine was arraigned before Circuit Court 8 following a police operation that reportedly foiled an attempted robbery targeting GCB Bank, Ecobank and Zenith Bank in the area.
The suspect was arrested during the police intervention, which was aimed at preventing the alleged criminal operation.
After proceedings on Monday, August 17, 2026, the court adjourned the case to Wednesday, August 19, for further proceedings.
Augustine was subsequently taken into custody and is expected to appear before the court again on Wednesday.
