Re-elected Eastern Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Jeff Konadu Addo, has called on party members to end their differences and unite following the conclusion of the regional executive elections.
Mr Konadu said the internal contest was now over and urged both his supporters and those who backed his opponent to work together to strengthen the party ahead of the 2028 general elections.
Speaking on Citi FM, the Eastern Regional Chairman appealed to anyone who may have been offended by his conduct or remarks during the campaign to forgive him.
“If I have done anything against anybody or said anything against anybody, I beg you, please, let them forgive me. I’m kneeling down in front of everybody; let them forgive me,” he said.
He also extended an apology to his opponents and supporters of his rival, saying he held no grudges against anyone who may have criticised or opposed him during the election.
“Anybody who has done anything against me or said anything against me because they wanted to win me out of my heart, no matter the medium, I forgive everybody,” he added.
Focus Shifts to Party Rebuilding
Mr Konadu stressed that the NPP must now move beyond the tensions and disagreements that characterised the campaign and concentrate on rebuilding its structures.
He pledged to lead efforts to bring the various factions together and strengthen the party’s grassroots base across the Eastern Region.
According to him, unity will be crucial to the NPP’s efforts to regain political momentum and achieve its objectives in the next general election.
He further expressed his commitment to working with all party members towards securing victory for the party’s flagbearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, in the 2028 presidential election.
Konadu Retains Eastern Chairmanship
Mr Konadu secured another term as Eastern Regional Chairman after polling 405 votes in the regional executive elections.
His only challenger, Albert Kwadwo Boateng-Agyemang, garnered 292 votes.
Following his victory, Mr Konadu said the focus must now shift from competition to collaboration as the party seeks to consolidate its structures and prepare for the 2028 polls.
