NDC denies reports of cabinet reshuffle
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has refuted reports circulating on social media and other platforms suggesting that the government has carried out a cabinet reshuffle, describing the claims as inaccurate and misleading.
In a statement issued on June 6, the party called on the public to ignore the reports and avoid sharing information that has not been verified through official sources.
According to the NDC, the false claims are part of efforts by some individuals to spread misinformation and create confusion among citizens.
The party noted that while many people are working to combat the growing problem of misinformation, others continue to engage in activities that undermine public trust and distort facts.
The statement stressed the importance of verifying information relating to government decisions through authorised channels before disseminating it to the public.
It further indicated that Felix Kwakye Ofosu remains the official spokesperson for the administration and should be regarded as the primary source for any announcements concerning government affairs.
“The official spokesperson for this administration is Felix Kwakye Ofosu. We encourage the public to verify such information through his official communication channels before sharing it,” the statement said.
The NDC also urged citizens to exercise caution and responsibility when using social media and other communication platforms, warning that the spread of false information could attract legal consequences under the Cyber Security Act.
The party reminded the public that the law provides sanctions for the dissemination of misinformation and called on everyone to communicate responsibly.
