Residents and businesses in several parts of the Ashanti Region are expected to experience a six-hour power interruption on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, as the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) carries out planned maintenance works.
The scheduled outage will run from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., according to a notice issued by ECG on Saturday, August 22.
The exercise is expected to affect communities and surrounding enclaves including Effiduase, Apemso, Asekyerewa and Senkyi.
Other affected areas are Asenua, parts of Ahwiaa, Overseas, Maase, Simms SHS, parts of Fawoade, Adumakase Kese, Wawase and Meduma.
ECG explained that the temporary interruption forms part of efforts to undertake essential maintenance and improve the reliability and quality of electricity supplied to customers in the affected areas.
The power company acknowledged the inconvenience the exercise may cause and apologised to affected customers.
“ECG regrets the inconvenience that will arise out of this exercise,” the company stated.
Residents and businesses in the affected communities have consequently been advised to make the necessary arrangements ahead of the scheduled maintenance period.
