A fire outbreak has been reported behind the China Mall at Amasaman, prompting a swift response from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS).
Firefighters from four stations — Amasaman, GNFS Headquarters, Madina and Abelemkpe — have been deployed to the area as efforts continue to contain the blaze.
The firefighters are working to prevent the fire from spreading to nearby structures while assessing the situation.
The cause of the fire has not yet been established, and there is currently no confirmed information on the extent of the damage or whether anyone has been injured.
The incident comes only days after a major fire outbreak at the Duraplast factory in Accra’s North Industrial Area, which destroyed property and reportedly affected the jobs of several workers.
Emergency responders are expected to provide further details as their assessment of the Amasaman incident continues.
