The Manhyia Palace has imposed an immediate ban on the unauthorised use of drones and other unmanned aerial vehicles within the palace premises and surrounding areas.
The directive, announced in a notice published on the palace’s Facebook page on Saturday, August 15, 2026, requires operators to obtain prior approval before conducting any drone-related activities within the restricted zone.
According to the palace, drone flights and other aerial operations will not be permitted in the designated area unless explicit clearance has been granted by the palace or the appropriate authorities.
It warned that drones found operating without the required authorisation would be confiscated.
The palace also cautioned operators that violations of the directive could result in legal action.
It has therefore urged individuals, media organisations and other drone users intending to conduct aerial activities within the restricted area to secure the necessary approval in advance.
The directive takes immediate effect and is aimed at ensuring that all aerial activities around the Manhyia Palace are properly regulated.
