The Third National Vice Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Alhaji Osman Masawudu, popularly known as Chairman Buga Buga, has strongly criticised the administration of President John Dramani Mahama, accusing it of incompetence and a lack of visible development.
According to him, the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) has failed to deliver any major projects since returning to office, leaving many Ghanaians dissatisfied with its performance.
Speaking in an interview circulated on social media, Chairman Buga Buga claimed public opinion had shifted against the government, arguing that citizens are beginning to compare the achievements of the previous NPP administration with those of the current government.
He further alleged that members of the country’s security services are becoming increasingly frustrated with the current administration.
“The tables have already turned. When you look at the faces of the police officers and other security personnel, you can see their frustration. The same security personnel who supported John Mahama to come to power are now suffering,” he said.
Chairman Buga Buga also maintained that President Mahama’s leadership has not met expectations, insisting that the President would remain ineffective regardless of how long he remains in office.
“We do not care whether Mahama serves one term, three terms or even more. In our view, he is incompetent and will continue to be incompetent,” he stated.
He contrasted the current government’s performance with that of the previous NPP administration, arguing that the NPP had delivered visible results within its first year in office.
According to him, the NDC has now spent nearly two years in government but has little to show in terms of development.
“When the NPP was in power, Ghanaians saw what we achieved within our first year. The NDC has been in office for almost two years now. What have they done? They should point to just one major achievement of this government,” he said.
