Sam George responds to Paul Yandoh over his status as a lawyer

The Minister of Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, Samuel Nartey George, has responded to former Ashanti Regional Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Paul Yandoh, over questions about how he managed to pursue legal studies while serving as a minister.

Yandoh had expressed surprise at the growing number of politicians pursuing legal education, particularly those holding demanding public offices.

He specifically questioned how Sam George, who is also the Member of Parliament for Ningo-Prampram, managed to complete his legal studies while carrying out his ministerial responsibilities.

“Today, everybody is studying law and I wonder whether, during the NPP’s time in government, it was the government that prevented people from passing or something.

“I saw Sam George, and I wondered how he managed to attain that status because he is a minister and has been very busy. So, how did he pass?

“Because when his wife was taking care of him, he wasn’t studying law but now that he is a minister, he has become a lawyer,” Yandoh said.

However, responding to the comments in an interview with kwesi Parker Wilson on Oyerepa Breakfast Time  on October 13, 2026, Sam George dismissed the concerns, saying he had used his time to study while Yandoh was occupied with social media activities.

He suggested that the time Yandoh spent on social media could have been used to pursue academic interests, including legal studies.

Sam George also challenged Yandoh to provoke Ashanti Regional Minister Dr Frank Amoakohene again if he wanted to witness his legal capabilities in court.

“My brother Paul wants to come to the seashore. Frank is not enough for you. The time he spends on social media is the same time I spend studying.

“If he wants to know that I am a lawyer, he should offend Frank Amoakohene, the Ashanti Regional Minister, again, and he will see what I will do to him in court,” he stated.

The exchange follows Yandoh’s public questioning of how the Ningo-Prampram MP balanced his demanding government responsibilities with his legal education.
