The Minister for Education, Haruna Iddrisu, has disclosed that a new revised curriculum for Kindergarten through Junior High School (JHS) will be submitted to the Ministry of Education this week for consideration.
He explained that the updated curriculum will incorporate emerging areas such as coding, artificial intelligence, electronics, and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) to better prepare students for the demands of the modern economy.
Speaking at the Government Accountability Series in Accra on Monday, July 20, the Minister also announced plans by government to increase access to medical education, taking inspiration from recent changes introduced in legal education through the Legal Education Act, 2026.
According to him, expanding opportunities in professional training is critical to building a highly skilled workforce capable of driving Ghana’s future growth and development.
Haruna Iddrisu said the ongoing education sector reforms are focused on providing young Ghanaians with practical and relevant skills while creating more pathways into professional careers in vital sectors of the economy.
He stressed that the government remains committed to transforming the education system to meet current global trends and improve opportunities for students across the country.
