Former Dome-Kwabenya Member of Parliament Sarah Adwoa Safo has spoken publicly for the first time about an alleged attack on her life, claiming she survived after her vehicle was hit by 48 bullets.
The former MP was reportedly attacked on June 21, 2026, while seated in her vehicle outside the residence of her brother, Nana Kwadwo Safo Akofena.
Speaking on Angel TV on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, Adwoa Safo said she believes her survival was a result of divine intervention, describing the incident as a planned attempt to take her life.
According to her, the number of bullets fired at her vehicle suggested that she was deliberately targeted.
“I would have died from what happened. If not for God who saved me, I would not have survived. I survived 48 bullets in my car, and not everyone would be able to come out of such an attack alive. If it were just one or two shots, I could have considered it differently, but firing 48 bullets shows that I was targeted and it was an attempt to kill me,” she said.
Adwoa Safo explained that she believes the attackers aimed at the back seat of her vehicle, where she would usually sit, but she was driving herself at the time of the incident.
She said medical professionals who attended to her after she travelled abroad were surprised that she survived the attack, adding that she considers her escape a miracle.
“The doctors who treated me when I travelled outside the country were amazed and asked how I survived. I believe God protected me. The people behind the shooting targeted the back seat because that is where they expected me to be, but on that day, I was the one driving,” she stated.
The former MP disclosed that she had gone alone to visit her brother to discuss a family matter relating to the succession of their late father, Apostle Kwadwo Safo.
She explained that because it was a weekend, she did not travel with her usual security personnel or driver.
Adwoa Safo said she went to the meeting without protection in an effort to resolve disagreements surrounding her brother’s succession peacefully.
“On weekends, I do not move with my bodyguards or driver, so I went alone to meet my brother. The purpose was to have a discussion and find a peaceful solution with those who had raised concerns about his succession to our father,” she added.
