A 15-year-old student of Ada Senior High Technical School (ASTECH), Monde Konedu Agyemang, has died after reportedly collapsing during a sporting activity organised to mark the school’s Girls’ Education Week.
Accra-based Citi News reported that the incident occurred on Thursday, October 15, 2026, which was also the student’s 15th birthday.
She was rushed to the Sege Polyclinic for medical attention but was pronounced dead on arrival.
Ada West District Director of Education, Dr Stephen Arthur, said the cause of death remained unknown, with arrangements being made for an autopsy to establish what led to the incident.
He disclosed that Monde had enrolled at the school only about three weeks before her death and had no known medical condition recorded on her admission form.
Her body has since been transferred to the General Hospital as police investigations continue to determine the circumstances surrounding her death.
