Newly elected Central Regional executives of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) have pledged to strengthen the party’s grassroots structures and work towards securing a decisive victory in the region in the 2028 general election.
The commitment was made when the new executives paid a courtesy call on the party’s flagbearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, on Wednesday, August 19, 2026.
The meeting offered Dr Bawumia an opportunity to congratulate the executives on their election and encourage them to prioritise unity as they assume responsibility for coordinating the party’s activities across the Central Region.
Dr Bawumia urged the regional leadership to work closely with party stakeholders at the constituency and grassroots levels, stressing that internal cohesion would be crucial to strengthening the NPP’s position in the region.
“Let us foster absolute unity and work hand in hand with all party stakeholders across all constituencies in the Central Region,” he told the executives.
He also encouraged them to deepen collaboration among the party’s various structures and ensure that the concerns of members at the grassroots level receive adequate attention.
The newly elected executives thanked Dr Bawumia for his guidance and pledged to work with constituency and local party structures to build a stronger and more united NPP in the region.
They expressed their determination to mobilise support, strengthen cooperation among party members and coordinate their efforts towards what they described as an overwhelming victory for the NPP in the Central Region.
The engagement forms part of efforts by the party’s new regional leadership to consolidate its structures and prepare for future electoral contests.
