At least 13 people are feared dead following a devastating three-vehicle collision at Odumase on the Kumasi-Accra Highway in the Ashanti Region.
According to a report by Adomonline, the tragic accident occurred on Thursday, July 16, 2026, involving a cargo truck loaded with tomatoes, a passenger bus, and a fuel tanker, which was reportedly empty at the time of the crash.
Although the exact cause of the accident has not yet been established, eyewitnesses said the collision was caused by a wrongful overtaking manoeuvre that led to a head-on crash between the vehicles.
Emergency responders swiftly arrived at the scene to rescue victims trapped in the wreckage, while the incident caused severe traffic congestion along the busy highway.
In a related development, another road accident was also reported at Dadieso near Konongo on the same highway, raising fresh concerns about road safety on one of Ghana’s busiest transport corridors.
Authorities are expected to provide further details as investigations into the fatal crash continue.
