The Obuasi Circuit Court has remanded three persons in connection with an alleged violent attack and unlawful damage at the Obuasi Senior High Technical School (SHS).
The accused persons — Kwasi Brefo, alias Allah; Appiah Arthur Joseph, also known as Nana Appiah; and Desmond Owusu — are facing charges of abetment of crime in relation to causing harm and unlawful damage.
They are alleged to have assisted other suspects, who are currently at large, in attacking the school’s headmaster, Abdul Zakari, with cutlasses and sticks.
The prosecution further accused the three of aiding the destruction of property during the incident.
The alleged attack occurred on August 5, 2026, following heightened tensions at the school.
According to the prosecution, some students had accused the headmaster of engaging in alleged ritual activities and made allegations concerning inappropriate relationships with female students.
The allegations reportedly contributed to the unrest that preceded the attack.
The three accused persons are currently being held in custody following the court’s decision to remand them.
The case has been adjourned to August 17, 2026, when the accused persons are expected to appear before the court again.
Meanwhile, investigations are continuing as the Police work to identify and apprehend the other suspects allegedly involved in the incident.
